There is a very telling little idiom that I remember my mother telling me just about every year…
“You can tell the men from the boys by the price of their toys.”
If that’s true I have to assume that it works the same for women in which case: I’m all grown up.. probably getting old. I had the worst time this year giving people a list of things to get me for Christmas. Don’t get me wrong I’m not expecting or getting anything on my current wish-list, at least on the one I’m talking about. I’d like to get into taking better photographs, for fun and for stock for websites, which means a better grade of camera. Last year my fiance bought me a wonderful little point and shoot that I love but the photos aren’t high-end quality. The price tags on those kinds of cameras puts it well out of reach for presents.
The other thing that caught my eye searching around the internet is a Wacom tablet that includes a pen-touch drawing surface on a video screen. I have always liked the idea of the tablets but never liked the kind that leave you guessing where your next stroke will be. Of course those are in the same price range as a good camera. Looks like I’ve got a lot of saving to do and a lot of small web jobs to take on for these goodies.
I also have quite a list of things I’d love to be able to get for my family and friends and although I’ve managed to find some fun things I hope they will love I can always buy more for people. Hopefully by next year I’ll have a steady job and be able to save up some money for a really exciting christmas for everyone.
Stuff aside though I love Christmas eve with my mom’s side of the family and Christmas day I’m making about my fiance, my daughter and I instead of being about running around the state to get to everything in one day. The weather out here looks kind of concerning though since my little rear wheel car doesn’t exactly do well in ice and snow. We’ve already had our share of issues with vehicles and cold weather so I hope we can avoid more of that.
Time to start getting in shape. Nothing like a nearly free vacation to motivate!
I personally suggest Hostgator for webhosting. They are really professional, support is perfect and uptime nice. Go to hostgator_dot_com and use “onecentcoupons” coupon code. You get first month just for free which is good deal.
